What Happens When You Archive an IUX Account? Can It Be Restored?

The Archive function is a useful tool designed to help traders organize their dashboard by hiding accounts they no longer wish to use. However, before archiving an account, it is important to understand the consequences, the status changes, and the possibilities for restoration.

What Happens After an Account is Archived?

Once you confirm the archiving of a trading account, the following actions take place:

  • Cancellation of Pending Orders: The system will automatically cancel all pending orders and requests associated with that account.

  • Pending Deletion Status: The account is moved to a "Pending Permanent Deletion" status. It will remain in the system for a specific period before being permanently removed.

  • Restricted Access: During this pending period, you cannot use the account for trading or any financial transactions. The account will be moved from your active list to the "Archived Accounts" section.

Why Can’t I Archive My Account?

In some cases, the system will prevent you from archiving an account. To successfully archive, you must ensure the following:

  1. Close All Open Positions: You cannot archive an account that has active trades.

  2. Settle Remaining Balance: Ensure that the account balance is managed (withdrawn or transferred) as per the system's requirements.

  3. Complete Pending Transactions: Any ongoing deposits or withdrawals must be finalized before the archive option becomes available.

How to Restore an Archived Account

If you change your mind and wish to use an archived account again, you can do so—provided the permanent deletion period has not expired.

To restore your account:

  1. Navigate to the "Archived Accounts" menu in your Personal Area.

  2. Select the account you wish to reactivate.

  3. Click on "Restore" or "Reactivate."

  4. The system will instantly return the account to your active trading list, and you can resume trading as normal.

Important Note: Once the designated period has passed and the account is permanently deleted from the system, it cannot be recovered. You would need to open a new trading account if you wish to continue trading.
