Why Can’t I Trade on IUX?

If you ever face issues like not being able to trade, missing Buy/Sell buttons, or unable to open more orders even though you still have money in your account, you’re not alone. In most cases, these problems are caused by either logging in with the wrong password type or insufficient free margin.

Why Can’t I Trade? (No Buy/Sell Button or Orders Won’t Execute)

If you can log in to the platform but can’t place tradesBuy/Sell buttons are missing, or the system won’t allow order execution, you may have logged in using an Investor Password. An Investor Password provides view-only access—you can monitor charts and account information, but you cannot open or manage trades.

You should log out and sign in again using your Trading Password, which is the password that allows trading actions (opening/closing positions).

If you are unsure which password is which, check your account details in your client area or trading account information.

Why Can’t I Open More Orders Even Though I Still Have Money?

Even if your account still shows a balance, you may not be able to open new trades because your free margin is not enough. Free margin depends on multiple factors, including:

  • Your account leverage
  • The instrument’s current market price
  • Your lot size
  • The number of open positions and the margin already locked

Key point: Having money in your balance does not always mean you have enough free margin to open additional orders.

How to Fix It:

  • Reduce your lot size
  • Close some open positions to release margin
  • Review your leverage settings (based on your account conditions)
  • Avoid opening large positions during high volatility, as margin requirements can change quickly

Quick Checklist When You “Can’t Trade”

Before contacting support, check the following:

  • Make sure you logged in with the Trading Password, not the Investor Password
  • Check your Free Margin and margin level
  • Reduce lot size or close positions to increase available margin
  • Restart the platform/app and check your internet connection (if the platform is lagging)
